Beta Alpha Psi takes second in international competition

The University of North Georgia (欧宝游戏平台) Nu Gamma chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) took second place in the international Deloitte Best Practice Competition. The award was announced at the BAP annual meeting in Washington, D.C., this August.
欧宝游戏平台's BAP chapter in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) previously took first place at the Southeast regional meeting. Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals.
The topic for the competition was "Launching Into the Next Century," and the 欧宝游戏平台 group's best practice was its use of technology to simulcast meetings between 欧宝游戏平台's Dahlonega and Gainesville campuses.
Seattle University won and the University of Sydney took third.
This marks the third year 欧宝游戏平台 submitted an abstract for the competition, finishing second in its region in 2016 before placing internationally this year.
Jennifer Schneider, assistant professor of accounting and BAP faculty adviser on the Gainesville Campus, said the judges commented that 欧宝游戏平台's use of simulcasts for its Beta Alpha Psi meetings is "very innovative and relevant in the business world."
Martha Merritt is the BAP faculty adviser on the Dahlonega Campus.
Students who either attended or participated in the competitions were Michael Thomas, Jae Beach, Jenna Allen, Cayla Morgan, Jessica Kubacki, Mansi Patel, and Alashia Damron.
ARC includes almost 100 presentations
Students gave 69 poster presentations and 24 oral presentations at 欧宝游戏平台鈥檚 30th Annual Research Conference, held March 21 at 欧宝游戏平台's Dahlonega Campus.
Local teachers, business professors collaborate
Roughly a dozen local middle and high school teachers participated in marketing classes at the Mike Cottrell College of Business Feb. 18 to learn more about current marketing trends.
Twelve selected as Fulbright semifinalists
欧宝游戏平台 has 12 Fulbright semifinalists for 2025-26. They include students from the College of Arts & Letters, Mike Cottrell College of Business and the College of Education.
Payne named director of cyber institute
Dr. Bryson Payne has been named the director of the 欧宝游戏平台 Institute for Cyber Operations, and Caitlin Conneely serves as deputy director for operations and outreach.
