The University of North Georgia (欧宝游戏平台) Press will give copies of "欧宝游戏平台 The Gold I See," written by 欧宝游戏平台 President Bonita C. Jacobs, to Lumpkin County Elementary School thanks to a large donation.
An anonymous donor gave 欧宝游戏平台 Press $500 to purchase the copies of the book, said Bonnie "BJ" Robinson, director of 欧宝游戏平台 Press and professor of English at 欧宝游戏平台.
"I appreciate what the donor is doing, which is to actively promote children's literature and literacy," Robinson said. "That is important because if you get children hooked on reading early, it will stay with them. And reading is one of the few ways that a life can be changed."
The book will be added to the school's library and given to several classrooms.
"欧宝游戏平台 The Gold I See: The Legacy of 欧宝游戏平台’s Dahlonega Campus" tells the story of a young boy and his multigenerational family during their visit to the Dahlonega Campus. The book is the first in a series about the five 欧宝游戏平台 campuses: Dahlonega, Gainesville, Cumming, Oconee, and Blue Ridge. The book about the Gainesville Campus is already in development.
